Lake Chautauqua Park

The many facets of the Park on 54 acre Lake Chautauqua. It is a good place for a hike, walk or bicycle ride through the flatwoods on trails that are part paved, part sandy but overall flat and easy. You might like to go out on the pier to see what birdlife has taken up residence that day. A trek along the trail in the Equestrian section should be on your list as well

The Lake Chautauqua Equestrian and Nature Preserve is located adjacent to the city-owned Lake Chautauqua Park and camp Soule Boy Scout Camp. The park provides an urban passive nature park with equestrian facilities and 1.6 miles of multipurpose trails which wind through the scenic property.
The site contains scrubby and mesic flatwoods, which are recognized as providing suitable habitat for gopher tortoises. In conjunction with adjacent conservation lands, preservation of the project site will provide suitable habitat for listed gopher tortoises.
Recreational improvements include a parking lot with trailer parking, shaded picnic pavilion, horse watering and wash station and 1.6 miles of nature trails. -Source
Try this 0.7-mile loop trail near Clearwater, Florida. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 12 min to complete. This is a popular trail for walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The trail is open year-round. -AllTrails
